Black — Divination, banishing,
absorbing negative energy, protection, binding, The God; This color is
usually associated with the clergy and ministerial figures. Wearing
black deters others from gossiping about you, meddling in your affairs,
and interfering with your life. Use it in efforts that deal with
separation, wisdom, and keeping things hidden, as well as for calling
upon the Crone aspect of the Triple Goddess.
Blue — Truth, tranquility, protection, hope, honor, change, psychic ability, freedom; Wear pale blue
when you feel confused, need to clear your mind, or feel out of
control. It also works well for magickal workings that involve calmness,
peace, tranquility, healing, and pleasant dreams. Don dark blue
when you feel the need to get organized and add some structure to your
life. Use it in magickal workings to invoke the Water Element, or as a
general hue for calling upon feminine deities.
Brown —
Stability, integrity, justice, endurance, animals, concentration,
grounding; If you have lots of excess energy and need to ground and
center, brown is a good color for you. Try it for spells that involve
common sense, bringing stability to life, or diffusing a potentially
harmful situation.
Gold — The
God, vitality, strength, success, action, courage, confidence; Wear
gold to make you feel prosperous and secure. Some magickal practitioners
like to use a gold candle on the altar to represent the God.
Gray — Vision, neutrality, absorbing negativity
Green —
Abundance, growth, healing, prosperity, fertility, employment, luck,
jealousy, money; To increase your ambition, better accept challenges,
and achieve a feeling of independence, wear green. It works well in
magickal spells that deal with growth, fertility, and prosperity. Use it
to invoke the Earth Element.
Indigo — Insight, vision, change, flexibility, psychic abilities
Lavender — To relax, even in high-stress situations, wear lavender. Use it in
magickal workings that involve the intellect, soothe erratic energy, and
cause inner beauty to radiate outward.
Magenta — Intuition, change, spiritual healing, vitality
Mauve —
To gain cooperation from those around you, wear mauve. It works well in
efforts that deal with the intuition, self-trust, and self-confidence.
Orange —
Courage, pride, ambition, enthusiasm, energy, friendship,
communication, success, opportunities; To ease the blahs and increase
personal motivation, wear orange. Use it in attraction rituals and
efforts that involve achieving positive results on academic tests,
business projects, and proposals.
Peach —
Peach is a safe, unobtrusive, reassuring color. When you wear it,
others view you as a non-threatening force in their lives. Try it for
magickal efforts that deal with kindness, gentleness, sympathy, empathy,
and well-wishing.
Pink —
Compassion, tenderness, harmony, affection, love, romance, spiritual
healing; Wearing the color pink, stimulates self-love and can help you
to become your own best friend. The color works well in spellwork that
deals with romantic love, friendship, and harmony.
Purple —
Growth, self-esteem, psychic ability, insight, inspiration,
spirituality, success in business; To gain the respect of others, wear
purple. (It is a terrific color for wearing on job interviews.) Use it
for rituals involving spirituality, mental ability, and psychic power,
as well as invoking the Akasha Element.
Red —
Sexual love, lust, passion, fire, willpower, courage, energy, strength,
anger; Wear red when you need to take charge of a difficult situation.
It is especially helpful to shy people who hold positions of authority.
Use this color for efforts involving activity, passion, sexual desire,
vitality, strength, and energy. It also works well when invoking the
Fire Element or the Mother aspect of the Triple Goddess.
Silver —
The Goddess, spiritual truth, intuition, receptivity, psychic ability,
stability, balance; Wear silver to reduce inner turmoil and attain a
peaceful state of mind. Some magickal practitioners like to use a silver
candle on the altar to represent the Goddess.
Teal —
This shade balances the practical side of human nature with the
Spiritual Self. Wearing it makes you feel like you can handle whatever
life throws your way. Try it for efforts that deal with getting a handle
on practical matters, making decisions, and achieving balance, or in
matters where gaining trust is an issue.
Turquoise — Creativity, discipline, self-knowledge, honor, idealism; Turquoise
is a must for workaholics. Wearing it can help you to step back and put
your workload into perspective. Use it in rituals that involve stress
relief, study, knowledge retention, and finding the logic in situations
where there seems to be none.
Violet — Success, intuition, self-improvement, spiritual awareness
White — Cleansing,
peace, protection, healing, truth, divination, tranquility, the Goddess,
purity (white can be used in place of any color); Wear white to relieve
tension and to better focus on your life goals. Use it for workings
that require clarity and spiritual guidance, or use it for invoking the
Maiden aspect of the Triple Goddess. If need be, substitute white for
any color suggested in spellwork; it is a culmination of all colors in
the spectrum.
Yellow —
Joy, vitality, intelligence, study, persuasion, charm, creativity,
communication; Wear yellow if you feel like your opinions and needs fall
on deaf ears or you don't feel like you are getting through to someone.
It works well in rituals that involve communication, creative
endeavors, success, and joy. Also use it invoke the Air Element and the
God.
